由香港舞蹈團前首席舞蹈員陳文彬先生於二零零二年一月創辦。成員為一群專業、業餘及熱愛舞蹈的各年齡階層人士。其宗旨在繼承、宣揚中華文化，讓海外華人，尤其是本地生長的年輕華人及主流社會，有機會認識絢麗多姿的中華各民族的舞蹈藝術。
樂文舞蹈團積極參與社區活動，經常應各團體、學校邀請 在不同場合演出。二零零三年在利舞台主辦的「詩情畫意繫中華」、二零零五年為聖保羅耆老中心籌款的「樂舞華采耀保羅」及二零零七年為頤康基金會籌款的「百花吐艷耀頤康」大型公開表演，深獲各界好評。於二零零七年以中國劍舞〈巾幗英雄〉首次參加多倫多奇瓦尼斯舞蹈節，取得最高榮譽的白金獎，並民族舞蹈全場總冠軍。
創辦人陳文彬先生舞蹈造詣高深，為人謙和，教學精緻，極具耐心，有教無類，深受學生及家長敬重及推崇。
Norman Dance Company was
founded in January 2002 by Mr. Chaminade CHAN Man-Bun, who was
the principal dancer of the Hong Kong Urban Council Dance
Company. The mission of the Company is to preserve, cherish and
promote the art of Chinese dance, so that younger generation
Canadian-born Chinese and mainstream society have the
opportunity to be exposed and appreciate the beauty and richness
of Chinese dances.
Actively participates in the
community, the Company has been invited by organizations and
schools to perform on numerous occasions. In 2003, 2005 and
2007, the Company presented its applauded “Chinese
Dance Showcase” public
performances at Leah Posluns Theatre. In 2007, its
Chinese sword dance "Heroines on the Battlefield" won the
highest platinum medal in the 14th Toronto Kiwanis Dance
Festival.
Founder Mr. Chan‘s artistic and
fine teaching style, his patience and the passion for teaching
have earned much praise and respect.
